Professor of Medical Statistics
Sarah is a medical statistician who works on the benefits and risks of cancer treatments. The objective of this work, which is funded by a Cancer Research UK Programme Grant, is to obtain quantitative information regarding long-term outcomes for people diagnosed with cancer.
Sarah gained a BSc in Mathematics at Imperial College London, followed by an MSc in Mathematical Statistics at the University of Birmingham and then a PhD in Medical Statistics at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine. Her first job was at St. Thomas’ Hospital Medical School, and she then worked for the National Radiological Protection Board, and the Radiation Effects Research Foundation in Hiroshima before moving to Oxford in 1984.
