Laurienne EdgarCongratulations to Laurienne Edgar, winner of both the Young Investigator Award and the Best Abstract Award at the joint British Cardiovascular Society/British Atherosclerosis Society Research meeting in June.

The abstract title was “Hyperglycaemia-induced trained immunity in macrophages and their precursors promotes atherosclerosis despite glucose normalisation” and the work was funded and enabled by our NovoNordisk Foundation Consortium.

Laurienne is a BHF funded graduate student on the University of Oxford Cardiovascular Science DPhil programme.
