Heart regeneration: is it in the blood?

This pump-priming award has allowed me to establish an Astyanax mexicanus fish colony in the Science Area in Oxford and identify new target genes of interest. With this preliminary data, I was able to successfully apply for further funding, including a BHF project grant and an ERC starting grant. We are now in the process of publishing the first papers resulting from this work. This would all not have been possible without the initial support from the CRM.
