EA to Prof Hugh Watkins and CureHeart, Executive Coordinator RDM Strategic

As RDMS Executive Coordinator my role is to assist in the smooth running of all aspects of the RDM Strategic Team's operations, which encompasses an array of responsibilities, including reporting to funders; ensuring the delivery of scientific reports; seminar organisation; committee servicing; acting as the main focal point for staff, students and visitors; and representing Professional Services Staff at the RDM Career Development Committee.

With a background in communications, a particular focus of my role is assisting the RDM Communications Manager with production of the RDM Weekly Bulletin, development and maintenance of the department website, and organisation of filming on-site.

I also assist in running the BHF CRE in conjunction with the CRE Research Facilitator, including maintaining the website, organising the annual symposium and collating information from across the research network for reporting purposes.

In my role as Executive Assistant I manage Professor Hugh Watkins' diary, organise his meetings and travel arrangements, as well as acting as focal point for communications from collaborators and funders.

I took up this post in 2021 having previously run the MSc Experimental & Translational Therapeutics and MSc Nanotechnology for Medicine and Health Care programmes for the Department for Continuing Education.  Prior to this I spent many years working in communications for various companies in Europe.
