Dr. Naveed Akbar was awarded a BHF Intermediate Fellowship for his project that aims to explore the role of extracellular vesicles in cardiovascular disease. This research could have significant implications for the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of cardiovascular disease. The Oxford BHF CRE has supported Dr. Akbar in establishing his lab in CvMed, which is essential infrastructure for his laboratory to conduct the funded fellowship investigations.
